Shall I compare you to a Winter’s Night
Now that your love has taken flight
And left me distraught on the bathroom floor?
The thunder clouds have burst their seams
No consolation for my broken dreams
No evening lover at my door.
When you walked in like the playful breeze
I did not think your life a tease
I did not know what lay in store.
I only saw a life of bliss
Where love was mine and all was this
And you were mine for evermore.
But you walked out and did not care
For the life I dreamed our lives would share
Or the tears that from my heart would pour.
I shall compare you to a Winter’s night
Your forever love has taken flight
When you walked out and closed the door.
